Schlitz Audubon Nature Center
1111 E. Brown Deer Rd, Bayside, WI 53217
Find a moment of peace and creative expression in a space designed just for you. Join us for a mini-retreat at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, a healing natural space along the shores of Lake
Michigan just north of Milwaukee. It's a chance to reconnect with yourself and your community through the restorative power of yoga, writing, and nature.
The Experience:
- Restorative Yoga: A 30–40 minute session for all levels (no experience needed) to release tension and cultivate mindfulness.
- Reflective Journaling: Guided prompts to help you explore your thoughts and emotions in a safe, supportive space.
- Nourishment: A delicious, healthy lunch
- Nature & Wildlife: Weather permitting, we'll take a spring nature walk to look for early blooms. We'll also have an opportunity to meet some of the Center’s resident educational raptors!
Note: The sequence of activities may adjust based on the weather to ensure the best possible experience.
Who Should Attend: This event is for young adults (ages 18-45) diagnosed with cancer before age 40—regardless of stage, cancer type, or where you are in your cancer experience.
What to Bring:
- For Yoga: Comfortable clothing and your own yoga mat (limited mats available upon request).
- For Writing: Your favorite notebook and writing materials, or feel free to use the supplies we'll provide.
- For the Outdoors: Sturdy walking shoes or boots (may be muddy!) and layers to enjoy the fresh Spring air.
- Hydration: A water bottle to stay hydrated.
Registration Required: This event is offered free of charge, with limited space for 20 participants.
